"Nellie" new hostess with the mostest at the Stampotique dt challenge blog says...

I often like to incorporate geometric shapes in my cards, be it squares, circles, rectangles etc. So this week I challenge you to use a geometric shape  in your card or project. But not just  any shape you like. I has to be a TRIANGLE. Use just one or as many as you like.
Can’t wait to see what you come up with… So have fun stamping!
 Groetjes,
Nellie van Leeuwen

I pulled "the homestead" image from Stampotique
and colored and cut it out.  I placed it on a tag covered in black cs and some dp scraps.  (Forgot the dp..I made this before the hand surgery - :(
These are some Prima flowers, a very old metal brad and some string (mid flower).  I did a little sewing and put the month of January on it. I also wanted to say I went to the outlet type store for "Crate and Barrel" when I was out of town and they had this awesome glass tape (letters on bottom of tag) in their reduced bin.  Cool stuff!   So, my triangle is my little tiny metal "hanger"...he he he!  Hope you go for this challenge too!  Got any hangers lying around?

Using "text" on your creation

NEW challenge at the Stampotique dt challenge blog.  Use text!  I am confessing to be a bit out of sorts these days...had surgery on my hand for carpal tunnel and trigger thumb.  If you are familiar with either, you know the later can be VERY painful.  But, ALL done ..stitches out yesterday and healing now..each day gets better but it can interfere with your "arting life style" a bit!  :(
I have created a few things before I went for the surgery...and here is a journal page using book text for the center...
This is actually done in my mini journal that I use to "roll off" paint in from my brayer.  The medallions are just some doodleing with ink pens and markers .  I used "Easter bunny" and "row faces" from the Stampotique store.  Stay tuned....some exciting new things coming up from the Stampotique store to talk about!!
Thanks for looking!

Winter Whites

This week, it's Valerie's  turn to select the Stampotique Designer's Challenge theme!  She would like to see various shades of winter whites in your projects - white, shimmer white, off-white, ecru, eggshell, etc. It wasn't planned, but this theme has a striking significance for those on the East Coast who have just endured a big winter snow storm! All of nature is drooping under the weight of a heavy white winter blanket!   Be sure to play along for your chance to win $35 in Stampotique stamps.

I used "snowy Fran" on a tag with some book print, washi tape and this cute little wooden chip birdie. Love these challenges using whites,,so many options out there :)   Below..just have to post a Valentine before the big day..
This is "smile" and this little guy has to be one of my favorite images at Stampotique :) The fun thing was punching these hearts out of my painty scraps for the baloons!  I have also used one of my new stencils from Julie Balzer and Blue Moon scrapbooking store.  This fits the challenge at Creative belli blog : use some of your old forgotten crafting items (the sticker words from the bottom of my craft drawer)  and the theme is hearts . Also, papertake weekly challenge blog: hearts, flowers and  daring card makers: "love is in the air"
Thanks for looking!  Hope you all have a very SWEET Valentines' Day....   :)

"Its SNOW cold"

First time playing at the "Octopode factory" .  These images some how "grow on you" after a while!  LOL  My digi image "its Snow cold" was looking right at me with those BIG eyes so I had to color her for February and put her on a tag. I started with some

TH distress inks, water spots, book page scraps and some dylusions splattered ink.  The challenge is anything goes but use a little glitter.. I figured she is so cold her eyes are like "ice"  :)

I  see my self ordering a few more of these !   Below is my new journal page in my mini book..
I just got my NEW stencils from the BLUE MOON store!  OMG...LOVE the new Dina W. , Julie B and Ronda P. stencils!! This stencil  I thought would be appropriate with the quote in my journal..

I believe it is called "eye chart".  Ofcourse I HAD to use my Stampotique stamps didnt I? he he he...After all the painty goodness I used "Bella" (poodle) and "party dog" (up peeking in the right corner) .  This mini journal has really been a fun thing for me to try out new techniques.  I just bought a big one...plan on taking Carolyn Dube's FREE class to work in that one.  Thanks for looking- stay warm!  It sure is cold here!

Gelli party!

Carolyn Dube is having another bit of a gelli party!  Couldnt wait to get in again :)

I made this with one of my gelli prints and Julie Balzer stencils.  I used two images from Stampotique,  cut them out and sewed on top.  Absolutely LOVE these gelli prints!  Have I said that?
This card is on its way to a sweet young girl who has jumped in and helped me ALOT at work. TFL and I hope you have a great weekend.
