Spring has SPRUNG! :) and a couple of challenges

HEY- Over at the Stampotique blog .........................................................

Gez is our hostess for this weeks challenge and here is what she has challenged us with:

"With warmer days just around the corner I thought it would be great to try and encourage a little sunshine into our lives and onto our blogs by creating whatever you wish using nice bright spring colours, flowers or wildlife.. something to lift all our spirits and tell Mother Nature we are ready! I know I am!!"

Remember it is Stampotique only and you will have until April 10th to enter for your chance to win a $30 gift certificate for Stampotique stamps to our random winner.
I NEEDED desparately to use "carrot" again!  lol  I really am crazy about him and he reminds me of Spring, ok?

He is stamped on a tag and colored with copics.  The other tags I had hanging out here in my art room begging to be used.  The thread is shiny tho you cant see it well here and I crinkled the ribbon with my heat gun.  He looks ready for Spring to me!  I would also like to submit in for the following challenges :
Catered crop= stitching on your project
Fab n Funky challenge: Easter :)
Raise the Bar 97 : "In the Garden"

Sunday Post card Art

How fun would it be to start sending post cards again? :)  Love looking thru them in Vintage malls and stores.  Now that I am having fun learning and playing with art journaling so much , I decided to make a post card for the Sunday Post Card Art challenge: green.  Any medium is welcome, just use a 4x6 size.  There is some really cool stuff over there.  Here is mine:
I started by gesso-ing a 4x6 piece of cs then I used some sprays over some stencils (creative workshop/Julie Balzer designs).  I stamped "party dog" (Roc Nicholas /Stampotique) and paper pieced him.  The border is
"scalloped laced " image (same) .  I used my white uni-ball pen around the sunglasses and on the scalloped border.   Now, am I gona mail him??  Yes...not sure "to who" yet! :) lol   THIS is also for the following challenges:   "Use it Tuesday" #27= using what you hoard = BG scraps are ALL over my art room! :),  the C4C challenge blog= use greenSimon Says = "A bit O green"Daring Card Makers "lucky green",   AND  Catered Crop= use stitching (around the post card)   TFL!

Sponsoring C4C = green!

Happy St Patricks' day!  Stampotique is sponsoring the new challenge over at the C4C blog this week to use shades of green/ St. Patricks'day.  I used "Easter bunny" 4008 and colored him GREEN to celebrate the day!
DP was some bg ,some scraps ,(trying to use them all these days) and the bunny is colored with copics. The little butterfly is a rub-on and the image is set on some mulberry leaves.  Isnt he just the cutest? He cracks me up. :)  I also would like to enter this in the current Pile it on challenge , again "green" and Stamp Scrap and Doodle Saturday blog = green and white.   Hope you all have a wonderful day and the weather holds up for a sweet parade. :) tfl

Winner will be announced as next guest designer with our challenge on March 28th.

And now for this week's challenge from Valerie - wearable art!  Valerie would like to see what fun ideas you can come up with as you create something that you can wear - perhaps even a matching set!  Will you take something apart and rebuild it, alter an existing item or will you start from scratch?  And then of course, the real test will be - will you wear it!?! :)  Here is my creation!
I found this wonderful pendant at Michaels on a reduced table and I used "heads" image to stamp and color with a few copics.  The "oh" was a tiny sticker I had here.  Easy and fun!  Lovin Valerie for the fun challenge!

Loving Letter Love

Where have I been.....Letter Loving! with Joanne Sharpe.  My first love has always been with art journaling. Sad to say I havent done it in a VERY long time.  Hoping to change that and decided I wanted to "letter better" in my art journals.  The class is always open to start and you can work at your own pace . :)  Here is the cover of my practice journal...
I have sprayed some paints thru stencils and gessoed.  I was even able to stamp my new "old timey frog" by Kira Nichols image from Stampotique! he he he!  So, let me show you a little of  the inside...my practicing...
Can you see my name??  :)  The beauty of the class is that although she introduces alot of techniques... you  can use what u have.  Not to say I havent ordered SOME new stuff, but this is all just working in a $1.00 composition notebook.
I find it incredibly relaxing and soooo fun.  **  CHALLENGE:  I would like to enter the comp notebook in the current Ginger Snap challenge to use some faux on your project...stitching drawn around topic on notebook. TFL!
