Vintage Valentine

Hey - over at Dezinaworld ALL the images are free now :)  Thank you June! :)  I picked up this "Valentine cuties" sheet and made a card for the Catered crop challenge to use book print, newsprint etc some where on your card.  I used dp from the 6 x 6  Lost & Found MME pads and the "print" is an oldie I downloaded from I think Graphic Fairy.  I also want to put this in the Unscripted Sketches challenge 143 ...I am happy to play with them since I havent for quite a while and this dp just lends itself to the sketch.
I am also in an atc February/Valentine swap...dont know who my partner is yet but it gave me a chance to use another image from the Dezinaworld sheet :)

So I am in  for the "all sorts" challenge blog... they are asking to use one or more hearts on your creation......tfl!

Alter something! SDC 47

Happy Wednesday!  The new challenge from Stampotique is to "alter" something..anything!  Need an idea?  Check out what the girls did here :)  I have been spending MUCH time watching tutorials and reading about art journaling  and techniques (prob too much time).. When I am browsing sometimes I see something that I want to jot down so I wanted a little technique/notes book.  I found this little wooden one at a garage sale long time ago.  It is painted with acrylics and inks and stamped with this awesome sentiment by Sark.. "lying in bed" #8889....love it...and the little girl "peeking" up is "Marci"#6049  both from Stampotique.  The inside pages are some really nice paper to write, doodle and paint on.
Also...over at the Gingersnaps blog, Stampotique is the sponsor for the whole month of January..
Today the challenge is to see your "glorious greens"  I made this tag with all my green scraps, "floating dog" from artist Kira Nichols at Stampotique, a little bingo card, copic markers for coloring and a fish rub on.  "Floating dog" reminds me of a Pug...and I just happen to have a Pug so I love it!   The wonderful green ribbons were a gift.. :)  BOTH challenges offer a $30. gift to the Stampotique store! SDC46 Pocket or Purse calendar

Over at the Stampotique designers challenge blog we are making a 2012 calendar for your purse or pocket.  I decided to "take the easy" route...my life has been a whirlwind and I am looking forward to some "normal" this year!  I know...right!  I used one of those cheap (under a dollar) calendars that come in a clear plastic cover ( from Michaels) and took it apart.  I stamped "I can see clearly" #6091 and "Bella" #9225 (the cute puppy paper pieced )  both from Stampotique on my dp. I did a litttle coloring with copics and distressing then printed the sentiment and year from my computer. After sewing around the edges with my machine and distressing with ink it looks a bit like leather. :)

Easy peasy uh? :)  I was going to give it away...but I think I will keep it! :)  Take a look at the WONDERFUL calendars the dt made on the challenge blog and join us if you wish to win a gc to the Stampotique store! :)  tfl

Tag a month swap!

Hello all!  Happy New Year!  I suppose like everybody else I am trying some new fun things with my art. :)  I found a fun swap over at "the altered paper" run by "Tee" called "tag a month"  For January the theme is cold/or New Year.  Guess I was able to get in right under the wire and happy to swap with Tee.
This is "snowy Fran" from Stampotique and she certainly fits the bill. She is stamped on a tag that started out vanilla, and I just squirted inks on my craft mat and basically dragged it thru it!  I also did some stamping on top of that and applied some stickers. ALSO....just for participating in the" altered paper" swap, each month one person will be entered to win a 6x6 pad of dp!    As of late I am stalking Kate from the Kathryn wheel  and Julie Fe Fan Balzer.  They are AWESOME artists for working with color . Kate is a dt member with me on Stampotique and she does a calendar page every month that anyone can join in on!  Hope to join in and share here soon.   Love it!   Julie just happens to have such a wealth of info for learning art journaling...its amazing!  I have learned so much!  She also offers up tons of other talented gals with great ideas too.   The tag inspiration was from Dina Wakely. Dina has some awesome ideas for
"jump starting" your creativity and they really work!

I covered the finished tag with a coat of sparkly mod podge
so it really shimmers tho you cant see that too well here.
"Snowy Fran" is on her way to Tee's house now. Hope she likes it! :)
Next....on a personal note....one of my daughters got married on New Years eve....LOTS of planning...but well worth it!

Two weddings in two years....two down...two to go??  lol  The happy couple......................
Thanks for looking!
